Alison Krauss was born July 23rd, 1971 in Decatur, Illinois. Both LeAnnekymes and Krauss were among the newest Grammy Award winners. Alison Maria Krauss, born 23rd July 1971, is an American musician and singer. She was a teenager when she first entered the music world winning local competitions at the age of 10 of age and recording her first album when she was 14 years. She was signed in 1985 with Rounder Records. Her first solo album debuted in 1987. Then, she was invited to join Alison Krauss Union Station, her current band that she sings with. Her debut album in a group with this band was released in 1989.
